The Caton Property Group was founded with a simple belief: that commercial real estate is ultimately a people business. For over 40 years, we have built our reputation on trust, local knowledge, and an unwavering commitment to our clients' success.
From our offices at 2931 Elkton Trail in Tyler, Texas, we serve businesses, investors, landowners, and developers across Smith County and the greater East Texas region — markets we know better than anyone.
What started as a brokerage has grown into a full-service commercial real estate platform: we acquire land, secure entitlements, manage construction, lease space, and sell assets — all under one roof, with one team accountable for the outcome.

Early 1980s — Founded
The Caton Property Group Is Established in Tyler, TX
In 1985 Greg Caton became a Texas Real Estate Broker and hung his flag in Tyler, TX
1990s — Market Expansion
Growing Presence Across Smith County & East Texas
In the 1990s, we partnered with local investors to acquire retail and office properties. We focused on value-add opportunities by renovating buildings, improving leases, attracting new tenants from outside the region, and helping property owners reposition their assets for stronger performance. 2000s — Full-Service Platform
Expanding Into Development, Investment & Property Management
In the 2000s, we expanded into development and completed several major retail and mixed-use projects, including several project in around the Oak Hill, Grande Boulevard and other Tyler sub markets.
2010s — Signature Projects
Oak Industrial Park, Copper Ridge Lofts & Mixed-Use Developments
Delivered some of East Texas' most notable commercial developments — including the 50,000 SF Oak Industrial Park, Copper Ridge Lofts & Retail, and multiple shopping centers anchored by national tenants.
